The New Archetypes In Crossover Breakers
Crossover Breakers was released on December 05, 2024. This 60 card set introduced 30 new cards which are the foundation for 3 new archetypes, Maliss, Ryu-Ge, & Ryzeal. Each of the three types focuses around a different monster type; Xyz, Link, and Ritual/Pendulum.
Ryzeal:
These Thunder and Pyro robots create a powerful circuit, cycling their way through the Deck, GY, and Field in an effort to maximize Xyz Summoning. Based around Level/Rank 4 monsters this archetype aims to get monsters in the right locations to build up Xyz summons with more materials. The core Ryzeal effect monsters all either special summon themselves or manipulate the position of other Ryzeal cards. Palm Ryzeal acts as a bit of a back up and bruiser, allowing you to move a Level 4 monster from the Hand or Deck to the Graveyard to add its attack to Palm Ryzeal's during combat.
Ryzeal's Xyz monsters are the essence of the archetype. Both have the ability to attach a Ryzeal monster when Special Summoned, which could occur often, so they will never be left without materials. Ryzeal Detonator is a stock design; with detaching materials to destroy cards in reponse to activated effects and detaching material to shield a Xyz monster. Ryzeal Duo Drive wants to be loaded with materials, granting 100 ATK to your monsters and sapping 100 ATK from your opponents for each attached. It can also detach 2 material to fetch 2 different Ryzeal monsters from your deck, keeping the cycle going.

Maliss:
Enter a digital Underground wonderland with the Maliss archetype. The gimmick of this theme is to trigger effects by banishing your Maliss cards and setting up Link monsters to point to other Maliss monsters. The archetype currently feels incomplete with only three Effect monsters and three Link monsters to work with. "Maliss in Underground", the sets field spell, requires three or more Maliss cards to be banished to trigger its effects so that shrinking an already tight card pool. If you can build up to Link Summoning Maliss < Q > Hearts Crypter and have her Linked correctly. Then players could start banishing your opponent's field while having a protected Queen of Hearts. The Mad Tea Party card shows a Mad Hatter which hopefully with appear with other Maliss characters in the future.

Ryu-Ge:
Legend speaks of dragons creating the world Ryu-Ge; a world split into 3 realms. A powerful monster from each domain are locked in a endless battle for control of the planet. The Ryu-Ge archetype features a trio of powerful level 10 effect monsters, each with a matching continuous spell card. The monsters all have their own special summoning conditions and an ability that activates by returning their coordinating realm spell card.
The dragon "Sosei Ryu-Ge Mistva" completes the set by thematically resetting your side of the board. This allows playres to return all the "realm" spell cards that were put on the bottom of the deck back onto the field when it is summoned. The cost, to trigger the ability, is to Tribute one Level 10 monster to Special Summon it and destroy another two cards.
